Jaqueline Bussie is so full of wisdom, you’ll want to record everything she says. Lucky for me, I did.
Lucky for all of us, she wrote a book full of said wisdom. In Outlaw Christian: Finding Authentic Faith by Breaking the “Rules”, Jacqueline takes Christian rules and urges us to toss them. I’m not talking about Biblical rules. I’m talking about rules which somehow evolved and seeped into our culture as law.
Outlaw Christian dispells myths and clichés, but the most meaningful parts of the book, as well as our interview, were Jacqueline’s insistence on vulnerability and authenticity as well as her prescription for hope.
In this podcast episode, Jacqueline shares of her husband’s rape.
You read that right.
Her husband was victim of a tragic crime and yet, the couple has hope. And joy. And healing. If that’s not the actions of Jesus followers, I don’t know what is.
Listen carefully to Jacqueline’s words. Then buy her book to keep on your shelf for reference. If you’re like me, you’ll need her encouragement repeatedly.
