For the past few months, Brene Brown has been my TED Talk therapist. Everything she has to say about vulnerability and shame rings true to my life. But this week in my Upworthy in-box, I watched a 10 minute speech by Ash Beckham. Ash isn’t a counselor by trade – but what she has to say is so accurate and convicting, I now have 2 TED Talk therapists.
I have a closet. I bet you have a closet. Like Ash said, even though our society leads us to believe otherwise, “coming out of the closet” isn’t just a gay thing. It’s a “I’m hiding something because I’m afraid of letting you know” thing.
Can you label your “closet”? What would it take for you to come out?
