As I mentioned in a previous post, a LOT happened during the blogging break I took during Lent. The most significant change was the decision to go back to work.
On the radio.
Talking and getting paid for it.
I know. I’m still wrapping my head around it also.
Here’s how it happened in just 4 steps.
1. When asked to be a guest on the show, Rose City Forum, to talk about my blog, I said “yes.”
2. When asked to guest host the show after the original host moved away, I said “yes.”
3. When asked to take over the show during the 6-7 pm drive time hour, I pondered and pondered and discussed and pondered and said “no.” I didn’t feel right about staying home while the girls were in school then leaving when they arrived home.
4. When the station manager approached me once more to see if I’d like to host the show from noon-1:00pm, therefore able to leave the house after the girls were off to school and returning before their afternoon bus arrived, I said “yes.”
And there you have it.
Me and Paul, the Station Manager |
Earlier this year, I posted something flip on Facebook. “I wish I had a job where I could get paid to read books all day.”
Seriously. I now read books all day. And websites. And blogs. And news stories. All of this so I can find topics and discuss ideas Portlanders may find interesting. How fortunate am I?
If you want to keep up with what’s going on with the show, “like” the Rose City Forum Facebook page or follow @RoseCityForum on Twitter. Find out what guests will be on and find information discussed on each show.
The station is KKPZ 1330AM, but you don’t have to be local to listen. Log on to KKPZ.com and click on “Listen Live”. If you miss the show at noon pacific time and the 6:00pm replay, podcasts will be uploaded here to hear at your convenience.
Don’t forget to call in at 503-242-1330. After all, the only thing which would make this experience even better would be to share it with you!
